Overview
The Babysitting course, refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills.
The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter.
Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children.
General Information
1 Day In-Person: 9am - 4:30pm

In-person Instructor led & hands-on course with a certified instructor
Participants must be 11 years of age or older
Topics Covered
1. How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership.
2. How to make good decisions and manage difficult behaviours.
3. Information on children’s developmental stages, and specific strategies for each stage.
4. How to feed, diaper, dress, and play with children and babies.
5. How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours.
6. First aid skills.
7. The business of babysitting.
Certification
This course includes a Stay Safe! Workbook and Certificate from the Canadian Red Cross.
